Our Check Card is a debit card that works like a check, only better.  When you make purchases, the amount is deducted directly from your checking account – but you also enjoy added convenience and security protections. Pay for all types of purchases quickly and easily.

Just use your MasterCard CheckCard when you are ready to pay.  It works fast, so there’s no need to write checks or fumble for change.  Plus, you’ll save on trips to the ATM and can leave your chequebook at home.  And because it’s accepted at millions of places worldwide, you can use it for nearly everything!

We May Be Calling You

If your CheckCard  (Debit Card) is used at an unusual location for your account; we may be calling to verify it’s you using the card.

To protect you and your First Volunteer account, we monitor your ATM and CheckCard transactions for potentially fraudulent activity, which may include a sudden change in locale (such as when atheU.S. issued card is used unexpectedly overseas), a sudden string of costly purchases, or a pattern associated with fraud.

If we suspect fraudulent ATM or CheckCard use, you may receive an automated call from our Risk Office to validate the legitimacy of your transactions.  You will receive the call from the following phone numbers (877)253-8964 or (800)279-2674.  You may opt out to speak to a live person if you choose by calling (800)262-2024 when prompted.  Your responding to our call is critical to prevent potential risk and avoid restrictions we may place on your card.

When making plans to travel, whether within the United States or abroad, please notify the First Volunteer Customer Care Center before leaving so we may exempt your card from being restricted while you are traveling.  You may reach the Customer Care Center at (866)668-4700.

Our goal, quite simply is to minimize your exposure to risk and the impact of any fraud.  To ensure we can continue to reach you whenever potential fraud is detected, please keep us informed of your current telephone number(s) and address.
